Regis Gray

Regis E. “Jim” Gray, 90, Duncansville, passed away peacefully, Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at his home, surrounded by those he loved so much.

He was born in McKee, son of the late Charles and Catherine Gray. On June 17, 1995, he married Gloria Vaughan in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Gloria Gray of Duncansville; a son, John (Sharon) Gray; five grandchildren: Stephanie (Derek) Matthews, Matt Gray, Amanda Gray, Andrew Gray, and Olivia (Josh) Farabaugh; eight great grandchildren: Jaxon, Brooks and Ty Matthews, Ajacia Alexander, Trenton and Micha Farabaugh, and Anthony Gray; three sisters: Helen “Sis” Campbell, Gloria Eckard and Marylou Matthews; a brother, Charles (Peg) Gray; and “Sugar for Life” friend, Brenda Brown.

Jim was a member of the Ken-Ton Masonic Lodge of New York for over 50 years and a member of the American Legion, the Moose and a lifetime member of OOIDA.

He served in the U.S. Army for three years, where he learned to drive an 18-wheel truck. His greatest love was driving those big trucks and continued to drive for 68 years until the age of 88.

Jim loved watching the Steelers, Pirates, Altoona Curve, Westerns and game shows on TV.  He especially loved his cats, Mommy, Smokey and Tiger. Smokey would make him laugh by doing crazy things. Children of all ages delighted him. He loved chocolate and especially Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kats.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at Hollidaysburg Masonic Lodge, 1008 Edgar St., Hollidaysburg. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
