Jack Edwin Husk
June 25, 1931 – May 13, 2026
It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Jack Edwin Husk of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 13, 2026, at the age of 94.
Jack was born on June 25, 1931, in Totowa Borough, New Jersey, to Clarence and Mary Husk. He proudly served his country in both the National Guard and the United States Navy. He was a boiler technician/mechanic during his naval service aboard the USS Curtiss. He participated in Operations Greenhouse, Castle, and Ivy — atomic tests conducted at the Eniwetok Proving Ground in the Marshall Islands.
Following his military service, Jack worked alongside his father in the family business, Husk’s Meat Market in Mountain View, NJ before continuing his career as a butcher with ShopRite until his retirement.
Jack loved working with his hands and renovated two homes by himself. He was always working on a project. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing and camping.
Jack will be remembered for his gentle nature, quick wit, and quiet strength. He often said that he never needed to raise his voice to make his point, and those who knew him appreciated his calm demeanor, kindness, and steady presence.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret “Tena”; his daughter, Joanne (Joe); his son, Jeff (Renee); stepdaughter, Alison; stepsons, Keith and Damon; grandsons, Kris and Greg (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Hadley, Holden, Cayden, Conner, Anthony, and Brennan. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Jack was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; his parents, Clarence and Mary Husk; his brother, Clarence Jr. “Husk” (Ruth); and his sister, Doris (Walt).
His warmth, humor, and steadfast love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
