Margaret Anne “Peggy” Wiggins, formerly Margaret Anne O’Neill, of Bronx, NY, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Lake Ariel, PA, at the age of 71.
Peggy was a vibrant person with a heart of gold. She spent her last years’ enjoying the company of grandchildren and family. Peggy was a career beautician, dedicating may years to making people look and feel beautiful. Peggy was born in the Bronx, moved to Flanders NJ in the late sixties and graduated from West Morris High School in 1971. After graduating beauty school, Peggy married Albert J. Wiggins on April 19, 1975 in Mt. Arlington, NJ and was blessed with 43 years of marriage before Albert predeceased her.
After retiring from the beauty industry, Peggy worked for Area Lighting in Hackettstown, NJ, before moving to Allamuchy, NJ and then to Phillipsburg, NJ where she worked at Warren Hospital, then to Lords Valley, PA and ultimately settling in Lake Aria, PA.
Peggy always cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Joseph and Jasmine Webber. When not with her grandchildren, she enjoyed playing cards particularly Mille Bornes and traditional Canaster, and watching police dramas.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Anne Wiggins; grandchildren Joseph and Jasmine Webber; brother, Joseph O’Neill and sister-in-law Patricia; sister-in-law, Judy Reiman and brother-in-law, Sam Reiman; as wells as her nieces, nephews and many cousins. Peggy was predeceased in death by her husband, Albert J. Wiggins, Jr.; her parents, Joseph A. O’Neill and Mary Teresa O’Neill (Green); her sister, Mary T. Brown (O’Neill) and brother-in-law Thomas B. Brown.
Funeral services will be held on April 13, 2024, at 1pm at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Road, Sparta, NJ 07871.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
