Linda Henry

On May 14, 2021 The spirit of an amazing woman left the earth.

Linda Lane Hunt Henry was an angel to many people while she was here. She dedicated her life to helping and enriching the lives of others. Linda’s presence lit up a room like no other.

Linda was a pioneer in many ways. She was the first female president and the ambulance captain at Eureka Fire and Ambulance Company where she was an active member for over 30 years. Linda was a member of the very first class of first responders trained in BTLS in York County. Additionally, Linda was an Emergency Medical Technician Instructor and Evaluator for the state of PA.  She was active with the Emergency Health Services Federation of York County and was an advocate for patient care on many levels. By serving as a mentor for youth interested in emergency medicine, Linda multiplied her gift 1000 fold. Her inner circle fondly referred to her as CB, which delighted her to no end.

Born October 13, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Dr. Josiah A. Hunt and Mildred Whitaker Hunt of Delta, PA. She is the wife of the late Eli C. Henry, Jr. of Stewartstown.

Surviving Linda are her three children, Kristin, Gretchen (Michael) and Shannon (Jennifer); six grandchildren: Cassie (Derek), Garrett, Cheyna, Laine, Connor and Lindey; sister Jo Gail and brother-in-law Dr. Richard Wenzel and the many “adopted” kids who joined her family over the years.

Interment services will be private.

A Celebration of Life Gathering is planned for Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1-3 PM in the social room at Eureka Fire and Ambulance Company in Stewartstown, PA.

Please wear a mask if you have not been fully vaccinated.

Memorial contributions may be made to:    Susan G. Komen Foundation         1-877-GO KOMEN

I am sorry to hear of Linda’s death. I met her as a member of Medic 97 ALS crew from York Hospital. She also worked in the Emergency Department for several years as a EMT-Tech. She was a strong woman who did her best to take excellent care of her patients

Sorry for everybody’s loss! Linda was a mentor to me when I started running at Eureka. She convinced me to take her place as amb Capt. and worked with me as well. Linda was a great person in all aspects and will be missed by many.

I grew up with Linda. We were playmates when we were little.
She was a Great Friend. She had many great achievements in her Life. Her Life was always full. She took Care of Everyone.
Over the Last year she and I spent a lot of time going back on the History of Delta as We knew it. Many Fabulous Times that We had and the Fantastic things that we did. We had Sleep overs, Picnics, Walks, Swimming, Ball Games. Playin in the Attic and at her Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Whitaker.
She will not be forgotten. The Memories that we had together were very Special to me.

Some people come and go without leaving any token that they have been here; but Linda isn’t one of them. She touched the lives of so many with her caring presence and a quiet passion for prehospital care and the people and institutions that get the job done. In short, she made a difference and left us better off for it.

Kristen, Gretchen, and Shannon – I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing! I will say special prayers for your and your families because I know that no words can take away the pain of her loss. I remember her fondly (especially how she and your dad made it possible for Kristen, Theresa, Michelle, and me to go to the beach senior week – not many parents would be willing to do that!) I know that she was a special woman. May God provide extra comfort to you in your loss. – Sincerely Karen (Devilbiss) Deaver

Gretchen, Shannon, Kristen, Jo Gail and Family. Sending our prayers and thoughts to all of you.
Time passes too quickly. I remember like yesterday Millie and Joe Hunt who were my sweetest Friends. It wasn’t too long after that, I was introduced to Linda and
Jo Gail. That being over 30 years ago.
I lost track of Linda thru the years after Millie passed. Was so sad to hear Linda
    has passed.
Allen and I want to extend our sincerest sympathy to all your Family.
    Fondly, Margaret Hilsmeier.
