Joseph E. Werner, 81, of Honesdale, passed away Tue, Aug 6th at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.
He was born in Honesdale son of the late Joseph P. Werner and LaVerne Gregor Hollis. Joe served four years in the Air Force. He worked a wide variety of jobs; including as a computer programmer (with punch-cards in the 60’s/70’s), baking bread for a regional bakery in Maine, and delivering flowers here in Honesdale. He was a hunter, fisherman, and loved the outdoors. He was also an avid pool player, and bowler.
Surviving are a son, J Michael Werner of Orlando, FL, a daughter Elizabeth J. McVey, of Hendersonville, NC, and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 15th, 11:00 AMin the Indian Orchard Cemetery, 998 Texas Palmyra Hwy, Hawley, PA 18428;where his Mother and Grandparents are interred.
