Jose Antonio Padilla, 65, of Scranton, passed away Thursday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is the husband of Candida Duran.
Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Justo Padilla and Carmen Rosa Rivera. As an auto mechanic He had a true passion for working on cars and embraced the simple joys of country life. He found happiness in making his loved ones laugh and cherished every one of his friends.
He is survived by daughter Stephany Padilla Doldan and husband Rodrigo, Michelle Padilla Peters and husband Rodion; a son Jose Steven Padilla and wife Rosalyn; Sisters Lydia Ayalla, Maria Rivera; a brother Juan Rivera; grandchildren, Evalece, Anaiya, Edeniellyse and Abagail Padilla, Vanessa Mya, and Jaden Anthony Peters, Ivar Duran and one more on the way; Uncle Jesus Morales El “Tio chuito”, Niece Madeline Cosme.
He was preceded in death by a brother Miguel Padilla.
A special thank you to his wife, Candida Duran, for her strength, and constant presence through every difficult moment. Our deepest gratitude also goes to his dear friend, Antonio Payano, for the genuine care and compassion he showed in tending to him. Also, Leo Rojas for being a good friend.
