Erick Travis Price, 41, of Dunmore died Feb 12, 2015 in New York.
Born Jan 3 1974 he was the son of Sophie Price and the late David W. Price. Through out his life Erick was an outstanding athlete and acquired many loyal friends around the country through his job.
In 1984 he achieved the Player of the Year at the West Side Boys Club, athlete of the Yar 1987 at the YMCA, Dunmore. While at Riverside High School he played basketball in his sophomore year but his heart was in football for which he received numerous awards. At Riverside he also broke the shot-put record in track and field in 1991. At Lackwanna College he participated in its initial football program and went to Lackawanna’s first Mid-West Bowl. He later went on to play with the Scranton Eagles for a few seasons, winning all U.S. Team Player in 1997.
Erick was employed as an Industrial Plumber. He loved traveling the country working as a plumber from Samsung Electronics in Austin Texas to his most recent job in upper New York State, Global Industries. Erick was an outstanding athlete and had a big heart. Erick and I had an opportunity to play sports together growing up and as often happens we lost touch over the years. I have often thought about Erick and was just thinking about him yesterday, when I read this news today.
I will say a prayer for Erick and his dad, David, today.
Mrs. Price, words cannot adequately express our sorrow for you and your loses this year. You are in our prayers.
