Geraldine “Geri” Paschalis

October 26, 1948 – September 7, 2025

Geraldine “Geri” Paschalis (Boyle)  passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by her beloved children.

Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on October 26, 1948, to Mary (Nolan) Boyle and Patrick Boyle, Geri spent her formative years in Scranton, a city she held close to her heart and proudly called home. She later lived in Stratford, Connecticut for ten years before returning to Scranton, where she remained for the rest of her life.

Geri attended Nativity of Our Lord and Abington Heights High School. Known for her reserved nature and radiant smile, she cultivated a close-knit circle of loved ones and lived a life marked by quiet strength and compassion,  She was a devoted daughter, sister, partner, mother, grandmother, and friend—often serving as the primary caretaker for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Maizy, Chrissy, Diane, Billy, Paddy, and David.

Geri is survived by her loving companion of 40 years, Arthur Barnard; her children, Tara, Thomas (Kristine), and Patti (David); her grandchildren, Jackson, Elena, Adrienne, Mary, and one eagerly awaited grandchild; and her siblings, Jayne, Terry, and Betty.

A lover of Hallmark movies, all things Christmas, Murder, She Wrote, old country western tv shows, and a formidable Scrabble player, Geri found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Above all, she cherished her roles as “Mom” and “Gigi”—titles she wore with pride and love.

A private ceremony will be held in accordance with her wishes

Geri is my cousin who I haven’t seen in many years but I have many fond memories of playing with her, as children growing up in South Side.
Sending my deepest condolences to the family.
