Joyce Allyn Thomas Finney Getting died of a stroke on Friday, October 3 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Milan John Getting.
Born in Mexico, MO, she was the daughter of the late James David Thomas and Julia Reily Thomas. Joyce was a homemaker, costume designer, seamstress, director, stage manager and actor in numerous plays at Nutley Little Theatre in Nutley, NJ and Alleghan Players in Alleghan, MI.
In addition to her husband Milan, Joyce is survived by her children: Milan Christopher Ward Getting, Gabrielle Elizabeth Getting, Jonathan David Allyn Getting, Timothy Nathan Thomas Getting, Samantha Wales Getting Paradinha and Amanda Thomas Getting Fucetola; 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Johanna Reily Getting.
A wake will be held on November 1, 2014 at 2pm in the Getting home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to NLT or Allegan Players.
