John B. Cornett, 58, 0f Jefferson Twp., passed away January 19, 2020 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His late wife, Georgiana Oney Cornett passed away November 25, 2019. The couple was married 16 years.

Born in Long Branch, NJ he was the son of the late Daniel Cornett Sr. and the late Lucy McManus Cornett. He worked in the carpeting and flooring trades, enjoyed fishing and loved his Budweiser.

Surviving are a son Francis Bunk, sisters Trina Cornett and Susan Blanthorn; brothers Daniel and Guy Sr.; sister in laws Margaret Andes Cornett and Wanda Cornett; nieces and nephews, Guy Cornett Jr., Jacqueline D. Frescki and Dena L. Cornett; Step children Megan Oney, Joseph Oney and Jami Oney-Clark; a step grandson Camden Oney a step great grandchild Bria Walker.

He was preceded in death by a sister Francine Cornett,  brothers George Amodio and Francis Cornett;  and a step grandson Harley Clark.

Services are pending at this time.
