Condolences for the family of “Suzanne Matoney”

Condolence from Dave & Sarah on October 20th, 2016 12:41 pm

Love and comfort to all who will miss her, and there are many; but especially to her family.
Praise be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive of God. 2 Cor. 1: 3 & 4
She had great faith & love for Jesus; and now she is with Him, in happiness and health. She is joyful now. I pray that God will fill the empty, painful place left by her passing with lovely, warm memories of her and the knowledge that she would want peace in your hearts.
We were blessed having her in our lives.

Condolence from Judy Joseph on October 28th, 2016 12:02 pm

I met Suzanne in 9th grade, becoming fast friends, finding common ground in our adventurous spirits, playfulness and youthful cynicism, supporting each other “through thick ‘n thin” those early years.

Later, though we pursued different paths, as we weaved in and out of each others lives, with periods of not being in touch, the friendship would resume and endure long distance, seeing each other a few times a year.

As a friend, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, artist, actress, director, environmentalist, & educator, she was always alive with passion, courage, commitment, focus and joy.

In 2007, while working as the Environmental Educator at the Sarah Heinz Boys & Girls club, Suzanne designed the Hard Hats program, teaching her young students to be better stewards of the environment at home. Her motto/mantra, printed on the Hard Hats t-shirts, was: “One thought, one change, one decision, one earth, one chance, one another”. Inspired words from her faith, a philosophy she lived with the most loving, generous heart. An independent spirit, she made the world a better place.

Struggling valiantly through her illnesses, she stayed with us as long as she could. Now at peace, I will carry her spirit within me for the rest of my life.
