Sallie Helen Ida (Eck) Mulligan, 73, of Hawley, Pa passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital. Sallie was born October 11, 1948 in Bethlehem, Pa to the late Thomas and Pauline (Strohl) Eck of Riegelsville Pa.

Sallie was a very talented self-taught artist, she created beautiful paintings, crafts and ceramics that have been and will continued be admired and cherished. She also loved baking, the beach and the ocean. She loved nature, especially birds and bird watching and had a green thumb, she could grow anything and her plants always flourished under her care. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had the best smile that would brighten everyone’s day.

Sallie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Sean Mulligan, her children, Brian Schan and wife Joy of Tafton Pa, Pamela Polachek and husband Michael Jr., of Hawley Pa and Timothy Huber and wife Pennie of Hawley Pa., her grandchildren, Kaylene Falco (Kenneth), Nicholas Schan (Tamara), Brielle Kuzmiak, (Michael), Michael Polachek III (Nicole), Evan Huber and Lydia Huber, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Brooks and Bennix Falco and Michael Dean Kuzmiak.

Also surviving are her brothers and sister, Kenneth Eck (Cleo), Daniel Eck (Doris) and Dolores Haley (Rockey) and many loved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Re-Birth will be held on May 7, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hawley, 518 Church Street, Hawley Pa. Services to begin at 1pm with a luncheon and fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, Honesdale Pa or a charity of your choice.

Sallie and I met and were neighbors when we were both young and so were our children. We shared some mutual friends and interests and had many heartfelt talks. She was always a very generous woman. My sincere condolences to all those whom loved her.

I met Sallie a long time ago. She was always a pleasant person. Mother 3 wonderful children. And a great grandmother and great grandmother. Sallie will be missed by many.

Circumstances kept me from attending Sallie’s re-birth celebration today but did remember her in my heart.
I would like to offer condolences and prayers to Sean, also to Ken, Dan and Dolores and their spouses.
Brian, Pam and Tim and all who were dear to Sallie.

Sallie gave me two of the most wonderful people in my life. Our son and daughter, Brian and Pamela.
She ran the race and saw it through even against all odds. A very dedicated, talented and gifted human being.
May she rest forever in God’s eternal peace.
