Marilyn R. Canevari, 81, passed peacefully from this life on the afternoon of July 26, 2023, from a gradual decline in health. Marilyn was surrounded by love, memories, music and family. Marilyn was born June 24, 1942, in Peckville, PA. She was the oldest daughter of the late Mildred and Hugh Walker. She was raised and resided in the Peckville area all her life. Marilyn was a loving sister to her brother Douglas Walker and sister Lois Minelli. Marilyn was a fun, loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a proud graduate and active reunion coordinator of the Blakely High School Class of 1960. Marilyn completed advanced medical science studies at Keystone College and worked in urology and toxicology until retirement. Marilyn was active in her community. She was a voluntary Sunday School teacher for 14 years. Marilyn enjoyed being a member of the Peckville Women’s club. Marilyn’s greatest joy and legacy is her love of family and friends. This was Marilyn’s favorite picture of herself…a young professional woman readying to become a bride, to the love of her life, Charles Canevari on January 28, 1967. A young woman readying to become the greatest mother to her two children Jeff and Jill, and Mother-in-law to Diane Canevari and Bob Kaszuba. Readying to put love, loyalty, for richer or poorer, sickness and health to the test. Readying herself to become the absolute greatest grandmother/Nonni, to her grandchildren, Chaz and Eva Kaszuba, and Micheal and Brianna Canevari. Marilyn loved being a Nonni. She was their teacher, their confidant, their biggest fan. She was always cheering them on, every sport, every challenge, any, and every time an opportunity presented. Her love, joy and pride radiated from her adoring eyes and warm loving smile. Marilyn’s ability to make you feel special, seen and heard, was not only for her family, but for anyone around her at any time. Marilyn was readying herself to become a loyal friend, a friend to a stranger, a helping hand to a family member or friend in need. Marilyn always had a smile and a kind word to share. One of Marilyn’s greatest passions was to make every place she was more beautiful than she found it. Marilyn always gave special attention to details and could create the most beautiful vignettes to celebrate any event or anyone. Everything Marilyn readied to be, She became. A private celebration of Marylin’s life will be held for the immediate family. If you would like to honor Marilyn, please just take the next opportunity you get to be KIND.
