Laurence “Butch” Alimena passed away on Jan. 4, 2022, at Regional Hospital of Scranton with his family by his side.
He was born in Scranton to Samuel J. and Mary Alimena. His former wife is Diane Alimena, Dunmore, Pa.
He was an electrician by trade until his retirement. He enjoyed to hunt and fish. He loved to go to the casino and enjoyed participating in pool league.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Alimena; stepdaughter, Diane Barscheski; and brother, Leonard Alimena. He has four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was also looked after by his great friend, Salena Tanner, for many years.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Catherine Gouldsbury; and two sisters, Eileen Claus and Ruth Cawley.
Memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore, PA 18512. Interment will be at later date. We ask that anyone participating in the Mass, please wear a mask.
