Karen Marie McKenzie, 70, of Monroe Township, passed away May 6, 2025 at Wilkes-Barre Genera Hospital. She is the wife of Douglas McKenzie. The couple was married 36 years.

Born in Detroit, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Myrtle Smith Gianakos. She was an artist and an animal lover.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters Michelle McKenzie Terry Borne; sons Jason Gianakos and Michael Gianakos.
