Dorothy C. Huber, of Shohola, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday evening, August 16, 2023 at home.   Her thoughtfulness, care, concern and quiet wisdom warmed and enriched the lives of those around her.

Born October 27, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Queens, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Pauline Jehle.   She was the wife of the late Louis Arnold Huber (1920-2004) who she met at Camp Sagamore shortly after WWII.  She lived most of her married life in Wayne, NJ, spending time every summer at Sagamore Estates and later moving there full-time when they retired.

Dorothy took life as it came with little complaint and a steadfast poise.  A sharp mind and empathic soul made her effective in whatever she chose to do.   In their youth, she worked hard to give her sons a broad range of experiences and opportunities.  In Wayne, in the position of Den Leader Coach, Dorothy ran a Cub Scout Pack, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Passaic Valley Council BSA, was active in the local democratic party, and volunteered at a local nursing home to raise the spirits of the residents.  In her youth, she worked as a telephone operator, and later as a college librarian and communications manager for Plessey.  An avid crafter, she also had a side business with her good friend, Judy, for a time.

She loved reading, westerns, card and other games, going to garage sales, giving gifts at the holidays particularly to underprivileged children, and expressing her creativity through craft projects of all kinds.  She was also interested in family genealogy.

Dorothy was fortunate to have wonderful neighbors, friends and family, and is survived by her two sons, Scott Huber of Bridgewater, NJ and Glenn Huber of West Milford, NJ; and her six beloved grandchildren, Leigh, Shaelyn, Andy, Brett, Dean and Rhys.

She will be missed.

Aunt Dotti,
Between my mother and I l, you showed nothing but love and support. You were always interested in our lives and always showed nothing but love. Taught my how to play Rummy Cube, Criss Cross Applesauce, “SHE is a Cats mother”, and some crafts. You were always interested in seeing my artwork. I always had a good time with you! We love and miss you! Now you get to be back to your regular hyper personality self with the rest of the family in Heaven!!!
Love you,
